Congers Man Struck by Car in West Nyack

On Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 5:30 pm, a 29 year old male pedestrian from Congers was struck by a passing motor vehicle on Rt 303 in West Nyack in the vicinity of the Palisades Center Mall. The male suffered severe but non life-threatening injuries to his legs and right arm. The pedestrian was transported to Nyack Hospital for treatment and subsequently transferred to Westchester Medical Center. The pedestrian had climbed over the center-dividing guard rail and was not within a crosswalk at the time of the accident. …

Twenty-one Tappan Zee High School Musicians Selected for AREA ALL-STATE Music Festival

This coming weekend, 21 TZHS music students will perform in the 2014 Area All-State Music Festival, November 21-22 at Wallkill Area High School. The festival showcases the best student musicians in Rockland County and five nearby counties.  The students were chosen from a group of over 2000 applicants.  Selections were based on their outstanding solo audition scores from last spring's NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) solo evaluation festival.  Students will meet with their counterparts at Wallkill High School on November 21st for intensive rehearsals lasting approximately five hours.
