The Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) was signed by former Governor David Paterson in 2010 and became effective on July 1, 2012.  DASA was enacted to attempt to provide a school environment free of discrimination, harassment and bullying.  One component of the act requires that incidences be reported however many schools across the state have failed to properly implement the act or have reported absolutely zero incidences of bullying according to a new audit from the Office of the State Comptroller.
