Pomona, NY Due to severe overcrowding at the shelter and to help many of the wonderful dogs,cats,kittens and rabbits who reside there to find the forever homes and families that they deserve to have, Hi-Tor Animal Care Center will be holding their Spring Fling Adoption Event this Sunday, May 4th, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.   There will be special reduced adoption fees which will include spaying/neutering, vaccinations, FeLv/FIV tests (cats and kittens), microchipping (dogs) and a free vet visit.   Hi-Tor will also be having a Bedding Drive and all old, clean sheets, blankets, quilts, bedspread and towels will be gratefully accepted.   Delicious baked good,…

UHR’s 5th Annual Walk to Remember Raised Over $75,000

United Hospice of Rockland held its fifth Annual Walk to Remember, in conjunction with the Rockland Road Runners 25th Annual George Wodicka Hook Half Marathon, 5K Run and Kid’s Fun Run on Sunday, April 6 at Rockland Lake State Park. It was a beautiful spring morning that drew over 900 participants and raised over $75,000 to benefit UHR. Ellen Feit raised over $3,200 to win the Avanti Cup, awarded every year to the most successful fundraiser.
