On Friday, September 19th, 2014, at approximately 1:30pm the Ramapo Police Department responded to the scene of a pedestrian struck on Becketts Court, in the Village of Chestnut Ridge.  Upon arrival, responding officers were advised that Hatzolah EMS was in the process of transporting the struck pedestrian to Westchester Medical Hospital.  Upon further investigation it was determined that 2002 Toyota Sienna, driven by a 19 year old female from the Monsey area, backed into a 1 ½ year old female who was in the roadway.  The child was transported in cardiac arrest and was stabilized upon arrival to the hospital.  The full extent of the child’s injuries is unknown at this time.  Ramapo Accident Investigation responded to the scene and is currently investigating the incident.  The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and there no criminal charges at this time.
