Clarkstown Police Department Responded to Congers Lake for a Suspicious Fire

On August 9, 2014 at 4:00 AM, the Clarkstown Police Department responded to Congers Lake for a suspicious fire. Responding officers observed a trash can burning, as well as the surrounding decking of the walkway. Congers Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. A search of the area revealed a second trash can burning some 200 yards down the trail from the first fire. That fire was also extinguished. The damage is estimated to be in excess of $1000. The Congers Lake walking trail is open to the public. The incident is being investigated by the Clarkstown Detective Bureau and the Clarkstown Fire Inspector.
